Rev. Gyokei Yokoyama currently serves as Kokusai Fukyoshi (International Missionary) of Sozenji Buddhist Temple, Montebello, California., which is celebrating its 50th anniversary. He also serves on the board of the Soto Zen Buddhist Associattion and the Association of Soto Zen Buddhists., “to celebrate the diverse Soto Zen Buddhist communities in Japan and North America as we attempt to forge a close international and intercultural ties with the North American Zen centers in the coming century.”

He has been attending Mountain Rain’s morning zazen sessions, and has a special connection to Canada. We’ve invited him to become better acquainted with our sangha, and to share his perspectives with us.
