Albatross and Plastic: Earth Day film showings, poems and discussion

  • Mountain Rain Zendo 2016 Wall St. Vancouver, BC Canada (map)

“In the heart of the great Pacific, a story is taking place that may change the way you see everything.” Please join us in an exploration of the connection between our human use of plastic, and the well-being of the magnificent bird, the albatross.

ALBATROSS is offered as a free public artwork by artist and film maker, Chris Jordan.

We are happy to welcome Vancouver poet Fiona Tinwei Lam, who will share poems on environmental themes, and show her video poems, Plasticnic and plasticpoems. Fiona teaches poetry at SFU Continuing Studies. Her poetry and prose appears in over 30 anthologies. Her third book of poetry, Odes & Laments is forthcoming this fall with Caitlin Press.

Discussion and invitation to action to follow the films and reading.

By donation to support the work of albatross conservation.
