This non-residential silent retreat opens Mountain Rain's 23rd annual 8-week practice period, led by guiding teachers Myoshin Kate McCandless and Shinmon Michael Newton, and this year’s shuso (head monk).

Our theme this year will be Living in Indra’s Net: teachings from the Avatamsaka Sutra and beyond. This retreat will introduce the theme and launch the practice period. On Thursday evening there will be a shuso entering ceremony, followed by an opportunity for participants to state their intentions for the practice period.

The retreat is offered in-person at both of our locations with concurrent online access.

The zendo is full!
