What is the value of cultivating inner peace when the world we are living in is so deeply troubled?
Often efforts to engage the many pressing issues of our time are seriously compromised by strife, apathy, and fear. Can our spiritual practice provide a grounding and perspective that assists us to be involved in our society? And can this engagement benefit our practice by expanding our sense of connection to the whole world?
In this 5-week Sunday series with Shuso Jikai Vicki Turay, we will explore these questions on the interconnection between our practice and our engagement in the world. Each session will consist of an informal talk by the shuso, followed by experiential exercises, and small/large group discussion.
Everyone is welcome to participate to whatever extent they are able, but registered practice period participants will receive a weekly email with supplementary materials and reflection topics. For more information on our 2016 practice period click: Practice Period Guide
